Commercial Ceiling Installation Process
Our commercial ceiling installation process is built around clean coordination, accurate scheduling, and the highest quality finish. Ceiling Pro installs suspended ceilings, drop ceilings, and acoustic tile systems across the San Francisco Bay Area. The steps below explain how we keep every commercial ceiling project organized so all trades can work efficiently and your build stays on schedule.
Step 1: Ceiling Grid and Framing Installation
Once drywall is finished and painted, our commercial ceiling installers come in to install the ceiling grid and framing system. We also provide and install all overhead support wires needed for the other trades working above the ceiling, including:
- HVAC contractors
- Electrical contractors
- Sprinkler and fire protection contractors
This early framing stage prepares the space so every overhead system can be installed cleanly and safely without slowing the build.

Step 2: Other Trades Complete Their Overhead Work
With the ceiling framing in place, the next phase is for the other commercial trades to complete their installations within the ceiling system. Typical overhead work includes:
- Electrical contractors installing light fixtures, wiring, and low voltage cabling
- HVAC contractors installing ductwork, diffusers, and air systems
- Sprinkler contractors installing fire safety systems
Sequencing other trades after the ceiling grid is installed keeps the project organized, protects the framing, and prevents costly delays on the commercial build.

Step 3: Acoustic Ceiling Tile Installation
Once all overhead work is complete and inspected, our crew returns to install the acoustic ceiling tiles and finish the suspended ceiling system. We pay close attention to alignment, edge cuts, and final appearance so your commercial ceiling looks clean, professional, and ready for occupancy.

Final Touch Up Support
Minor ceiling damage can happen while other trades complete their final work in the space. To help keep the project moving, we will return for up to 4 hours of minor ceiling repairs caused by other trades at no labor charge. Material costs are excluded.
